About the podcast

Chicago politics, from the inside

This straight-talking, behind-the-scenes, non-partisan video podcast offers insights others cannot — because it’s presented by hosts with decades of firsthand experience in Chicago politics.

Beginning with the mayoral race, we provide current, historical and tactical context while interpreting campaign strategies and tracking each candidate’s path and progress.

But our interviews go deeper — searching for the wisdom, vision, practicality and toughness Chicago needs. We try to uncover, as Carl Sandburg said, who has “the heart of the people.”

Beyond City Hall and politics, we explore other newsmakers, historical moments, new cultural ventures and little-known Chicago curiosities.

National Appeal

Chicago’s brand of politics captivates, consternates and often entertains Chicagoans and the nation. Chi Politics will engage locals and anyone who wants to better understand politics through this pivotal political city, known for its colorful mayors and national influence.

Our purpose: To elevate civic engagement through impartial content offering information and inspiration.
